Saxion Enschede allowed me to work on a project called “VR Live Performance Arts”. Because of the COVID pandemic, big groups of people could not enjoy live experiences together. During this project, our goal was to make it possible to digitally attend live performances and concerts. So our team made a virtual reality solution which makes it possible to take the ordinary experience to the next level.
During this assignment, we collaborated with two clients. Metropool and the Symfonia orchestra. Metropool could be referred to as an organisation controlling numerous pop venues in Twente. They have three locations of which two are located in Hengelo and one in Enschede. They were interested in the project because the COVID lockdown was reducing their usual audience count with big numbers. They were looking for a way to bring the concerts to the peoples home.

Symfonia is a group of young musicians who mostly play classical and film music. Symfonia had a similar problem to Metropool. They created live music shows but were unable to reach their usual amount of audience members.
Below you can see the trailer for our project solution, my contribution to the project and a walkthrough of the actual experience.
Our team consisted of 8 people with varying roles. My role during this project was 2D artist and storyteller. Our team came up with many ideas and concepts. In the end, due to time and technical constraints, most of these early concepts were scrapped. My 2D colleague her skills were needed most in the 3D department. Leaving me with the task of converting our ideas and concepts into final designs and storyboards for the project, which you can see below.
